Free Fun in Austin!

Arguably the number 1 attraction in Austin, Zilker Park is home of the Zilker Botanical Guardens, Barton Springs Pool, the Austin Nature and Science Center, the Zilker Hillside Theater and the Barton Creen Greenbelt.

The Texas State Capitol is located here as is the Governor's Mansion which is just across the street.

Town Lake is really a piece of the Colorado River that meanders through Austin. It contains a beautifully landscaped Hike and Bike Trial AND the Congress Avenue Bridge, home of the largest colony of urban bats in the world. They make their debut at dusk every day.
Sadly, Town Lake does not yet have its own web page. It is most beautiful and peaceful.

The University of Texas, reportedly the largest single-campus school in the US, is located in mid-town. The University has many notable points of interest including the infamous UT Tower, the Texas Memorial Museum, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library and Museum, and the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center.

Or visit East 6th Street and haunt one of the many musical venues.
